So they went along and went along until they met Turkey Lurkey
“Good morning, Goosey Loosey, Ducky Daddles, Cocky Locky, Henny Penny, and Chicken Licken,” said Turkey Lurkey, “where are you going?”
“Oh, Turkey Lurkey, the sky is falling and we are going to tell the King!”
“How do you know the sky is falling?” asked Turkey Lurkey.
“Ducky Daddles told me,” said Goosey Loosey.
“Cocky Locky told me,” said Ducky Daddles.
“Henny Penny told me,” said Cocky Locky.
“Chicken Licken told me,” said Henny Penny
“I saw it with my own eyes, I heard it with my own ears,
and a piece of it fell on my tail!” said Chicken Licken.
“Then I will go with you,” said Turkey Lurkey, “and we will tell the King!”

Thanks Stacia for posting this. I thought it might be fun for us all to submit illustrations for this award then we could post our submissions on the blog to see each unique take on the same passage. Not sure if anybody is free to commit to it, but I think it would be fun even if only a handful take part.
The winner, chosen by Tomie, will win an all expense paid trip to the SCBWI NY winter conference where they'll be presented with the award by Tomie himself! How totally amazing would that be?!
Thanks for posting this!
PLEASE remember, if you hear of any opps for illustrators, let me know so I can post it on my blog Illustration Station!
which I have now done here: http://illustration-station.blogspot.com/2011/10/scbwi-tomie-depaola-award-december-15.html
THis would be lots of fun to enter. Not sure if I'll have time but will try!
:-)
Hi Kim,
There is also a notice on the SCBWI website( I don't have the link but will pop over there and find it and let you know) for SCBWI members to submit B&W spot art for a chance to be put in their bulletin.
Great exposure!
ok the page is only accessable once you are logged in, so you need to sign in on the member login page first then click on "resourse list" then "SCBWI Bulletin" then "Submission Guidelines".
