Brushing the Dust Off..

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Hi everyone, remember me? I'm an illustrator from many moons ago that had twins and fell off the "creative" planet! I'm trying to scrape and crawl my way back...and am feeling a bit rusty. Anyway, can someone please pat me on the back for getting this done? It's for Illustration Friday's theme this week, "climbing."

I bought the latest Children's Writer's & Illustrator's Market book and am intending on reading it...haven't cracked it open yet but that is my plan regardless. I'm going to try to shop around that ABC book I made eons ago...and work on a counting one.

What's everyone else up to? How's biz? How's that creative energy?

Hi Stacia, it's great to hear from you and see some more of your wonderful work! Wow, I commend you on getting this done with two toddlers to look after! The image looks terrific. Your lovely colors and variety of textures, make the image really come together beautifully.

::PAT PAT PAT PAT::!!! Well done Stacia! I am impressed you were even able to THINK about art let alone find time to do some with two toddlers. Great that you are getting back into creative land. We missed you! :-)

You have a neat style. I like the patterns you have going on here with the storm drain and the water splats on the umbrella. Keep up the good work.
How old are the little ones now?

Thanks for the comments. It feels being creative again.

The girls are 16 months. They're walking, making animal sounds, climbing, throwing food on the floor...good times :)

Looking forward to seeing more work from everyone and getting stuff done on my end. I've read the first couple pages of the marketing book...slow start but a start none the less!

Thanks for your comments on my blog! Figured I'd check out your blog too since I'm up at this ungodly hour! the title of your blogspot was intruiging so I visited & came across this ADORABLE illo...I'm no visual artist, but it's definitely the sort of illustration I would've been drawn to as a child, and STILL AM as an adult! I like the juxtaposition of the metallic waterpipe with the calico-y umbrella! Wishing you luck in your return to the illustrating world!
